Intro About Project
Earlier this year, the FRSA proudly participated in the 2024 Career Expo and SkillsUSA competition at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville. The NEFRSA was invited to assist with the event, and we eagerly accepted the challenge. This remarkable event provided an opportunity to showcase the roofing industry to middle and high school students from across Florida. Students engaged in hands-on learning with TPO, shingles, and metal roofing, while discovering the diverse career opportunities available in this incredible industry.
We are thrilled to congratulate Noemi Martinez and Matthew Addington, who both earned 2nd place in their respective roofing competitions at this year’s SkillsUSA national competition in Atlanta. Florida stood out as the only state with a roofing competitor in both the high school and post-secondary categories.
Additionally, we’d like to extend our appreciation to Tim Stephens, Vice President of Architectural Sheet Metal, Inc., for his key role in the planning and education of these talented students. We wish them all continued success in their future endeavors!
