  Gutter Screen

MicroGuard, the gutter screen with micro filtration technology from Englert, Inc., is now available to customers in four foot lengths. The new screen offers the same angled micro-perforations that block large debris from entering the gutter while allowing rainwater to flow through freely. The new four foot MicroGuard filter is extremely stable and wind resistant. Each four foot section is easy to install requiring only three zip screws guaranteeing secure and maintenance-free leaf protection. The sections are made of sturdy 032 gauge aluminium and have 2,000 holes per lineal foot to maximize drainage. It is sold through independent roofers, gutter installers and home improvement companies throughout the United State. It competes against other less durable screens not as effective in filtering water because of clogging. The filter features a raised, stepped groove to prevent water from splashing back underneath roof shingles. The gutter screen does not penetrate shingles and won’t violate roofing material warranties.

Construction DF150-CS Stapler

With its first entry into pneumatic cap fastening, Duo-Fast® Construction has taken aim at pro users’ most common complaints. The DF150-CS Cap Stapler is far faster than hand stapling, more maneuverable and reliable than competitor cap fastening systems and designed to get the job done right — every time. Firing staples and plastic button caps in a single operation, Duo-Fast’s DF150-CS is ideal for installing roofing felt, plastic sheathing and house wrap materials. An in-line magazine keeps the tool compact and balanced for consistent, precise drives every time. Along with great balance, the tool is one of the lightest in its class, which reduces user fatigue throughout the day. As with many Duo-Fast tools, the DF150-CS was designed in conjunction with an innovative fastener system for optimized performance in the most common applications. The patented Duo-Caps system features a proprietary button cap design that stays tight and flush over time to resist tearing of roof felt or house wrap materials and to resist water damage.

Three-Beam Line Laser

DEWALT announced the launch of its new Line Laser (DW089K), which features multiple design enhancements to improve productivity on the job site. The line laser is ideal for professionals tasked with residential and commercial applications such as installing cabinets, drop ceilings, chair rails or doors and windows. It can also be used when installing floor and wall tile or mapping wall layout. Unlike many line lasers on the market, the DW089K features a second plumb line that forms a 90-degree intersecting line on the floor and ceiling. This third vertical beam allows contractors to use the tool for layout applications without the need for a second laser, saving time and allowing users to be as productive as possible. For commercial wall layout applications, the line laser has a track clearance of over 1-3/4 inch, which means there is no need for additional accessories to raise the laser over drywall track. The tool will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee. The one-year free service contract includes two calibrations.

   HotSeam System

The low-profile HotSeam roof ice prevention system is designed to prevent the formation of dangerous ice dams that can form on standing seam metal roofs. It attaches to existing standing seam metal roofs to create an effective melt path for snow. The new patent-pending system employs UL-Listed self-regulating commercial grade heat tape contained beneath a specially-designed metal raceway, firmly pressing the heat tape against the existing metal roof panel along each standing seam. By conducting thermal energy directly to the exposed roof panel, the new product actually makes the metal roof a part of the ice prevention system. Snow melt drains efficiently from the roof structure, avoiding the formation of ice dams and preventing water from pooling and backing up into the building, where it has the potential to cause extensive property damage, such as mildew, mold (sometimes toxic mold) and structural rot.

Serpent Ventilated Safety Helmet

For workers who dread wearing uncomfortable, hot safety helmets on the job site, extra comfort features can make the difference. Gateway Safety’s Serpent Ventilated Safety Helmet offers all-day comfort, light weight, and excellent ventilation combined with optimal head injury protection. Serpent’s sleek snake head shell style also keeps workers looking good while staying safe. Serpent is ultra light and comfortable at just 13.1 ounces, with a six-point nylon suspension system. A rotating ratchet adjustment easily fits over the nape of the neck for a comfortable, secure fit. And because heat buildup under the helmet can cause fatigue and heat stress, ventilated Serpent is the ideal choice. Its CoolSense airflow system, along with six vents along the peak of the helmet, promotes heat release and keeps workers cool. Additional features include a cushioned brow pad that absorbs moisture and perspiration and a rain trough to divert water from workers’ faces. The Serpent shell is made of a sturdy high-density polyethylene material that provides exceptional impact protection without adding weight. Gateway Safety’s Serpent complies with the ANSI Z89.1 Standard for Type I, Class C helmets.

To provide added moisture protection and energy savings in commercial roofing applications, Firestone Building Products Company, LLC, is now offering a vapor
barrier membrane for the commercial building industry. V-Force Vapor Barrier
Membrane can be used as a reliable vapor barrier and self-adhered temporary roof,
providing an excellent, multi-functional solution for quickly weatherproofing new

construction or re-roof projects. V-Force membrane may be used over a variety of

substrates, including concrete, plywood, DensDeck Prime roof board, exterior gypsum and other Firestone-
approved substrates primed with V-Force solvent-based or water-based primer. Installing the membrane over
substrates encloses any openings, reducing heating and cooling loss and increasing the building’s energy
efficiency. V-Force membrane’s high tensile woven polyethylene surface provides a smooth and ideal surface
for the adhesion of Firestone insulation products above the barrier and aggressive adhesion to substrates
below. This allows the insulation to be mechanically attached without affecting the integrity of the roof.
V-Force membrane also features a high density, quick and easy release film allowing for incredible ease of
installation.
